I think of myself as a computational social scientist. I'm interested in applying all kinds of computational methods (machine learning, traditional statistics, optimization), but in the end what I care about is studying and optimizing people's choices.
I developed statistical, machine learning and optimization models for Via's fraud detection, supply prediction and supply optimization, forming the algorithms Via uses to improve its day-to-day decisions in these domains. Via was doing >1 million rides per month at the time I was there.
Now I am headed to work on Google Suite for a new challenge.
